Silveira Drypack is a specialized preparation trade based in Toronto, Ontario, working on the layers of shower and tile construction that get covered up — and that everything above them depends on.
What we do, and what we don't
Our scope is deliberately narrow: scratch coat, waterproofing membrane, drypack mortar beds and shower drypack. We are the trade that comes in before the tile, and leaves behind a substrate that is flat, correctly pitched and ready to be finished.
We do not install tile, and we do not run bathroom renovations end to end. That is intentional. Substrate work rewards specialization — the difference between a shower base that drains and one that does not is measured in millimetres, and it is decided by how carefully the base was set out before any mortar was mixed.
Most of our work is alongside contractors, builders, renovators and tile professionals who want that stage handled by someone who does it every day. We also work directly with homeowners coordinating their own bathroom project.

Four principles on every job
One discipline, done properly
Scratch coat, membrane, drypack and shower drypack. A narrow scope means the work gets the attention a general schedule rarely allows.
Set out before it is built
Drain heights, perimeter levels, plane and fall are established first. Packing mortar is the easy part; deciding where it goes is the work.
Details by hand
Corners, curbs, drain surrounds and edges are shaped and checked individually, not screeded through and hoped for.
Built for the next trade
The measure of a substrate is how easily the tile setter can work on it. That is the standard the work is held to.
